Sower Chat ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. It applies to businesses using our platform and to website visitors who interact with a Sower Chat widget.

2. Information We Collect

Account holders: When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and organization details.

Widget visitors: When a visitor interacts with a chat widget embedded on a business's website, we may collect their name, email address, and phone number (if provided), chat messages, and technical metadata including browser type, operating system, device type, screen resolution, page URL, referring URL, language preference, timezone, and approximate geographic location (city and country derived from IP address).

Usage data: We collect standard server logs and usage analytics to operate and improve the Service.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to: provide and operate the Service; display conversation context to agents; enable AI-assisted responses; send transactional emails such as team invitations; improve and develop the Service; and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the platform:

Clerk — user authentication and session management (privacy policy).

Vercel — web application hosting (privacy policy).

Railway — API and database hosting (privacy policy).

Resend — transactional email delivery (privacy policy).

MaxMind GeoLite2 — approximate geographic location lookup from IP address. This lookup is performed locally on our servers; IP addresses are not transmitted to MaxMind.

OpenAI — powers AI-assisted chat responses. Message content may be sent to OpenAI for processing (privacy policy).

5. Data Retention

We retain account data for as long as your account is active. Conversation data is retained until deleted by the organization or until the organization is deleted. When an organization is deleted, all associated data — conversations, contacts, messages, and settings — is permanently removed.

6. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication and to maintain your session. The chat widget may set a cookie in the visitor's browser to maintain session continuity across page views. We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. To make a request, contact us at team@sower.chat. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a revised date. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
